Materials
Three layers: 40D face fabric, hydrophilic membrane rated at 20,000mm water resistance and 20,000g/m² breathability, tricot backer. We use three layers instead of 2.5 because a 2.5 coating rubs off where a pack sits, and then you're wearing a plastic bag.
Care
Wash it. A dirty shell wets out faster than a clean one. That's the most common reason people think a jacket has failed. Use a technical wash, no fabric softener, and tumble dry on warm to reactivate the DWR.
